Jakarta Fashion Week is held annually to spotlight Indonesia’s trend directives as well as display the talent and creativity of Indonesian fashion designers. Jakarta Fashion Week is the definitive fashion event in Indonesia, which results from the collaboration between the Jakarta Tourism and Cultural Board, the municipality of DKI Jakarta, fashion stakeholders, the media, and various other sponsors striving to establish Jakarta as a global fashion hub.

Jakarta Fashion Week 2009 will be held at Pacific Place Mall, Jakarta.

Last year we welcomed around 4800 visitors. This year we are hoping more than 10,000 visitors.

5. Who organizes Jakarta Fashion Week 09/10?

Jakarta Fashion Week 09/10 is organized by Azura Activation, an affililiate of the magazine publishing company Femina Group. As one of the largest and most established media groups, Femina Group is a vital catalyst in the advancement and promotion of Indonesian Fashion since 1971. Femina Group is also the publisher of the monthly Dewi magazine, the leading glossy of the luxury-fashion segment and the de-facto bible of Ithe ndonesian fashion afficiniados.

Jakarta Fashion Week comprises a range of activities to be held at Pacific Place. Most of the main events at the Fashion Tent will be exclusive Invitation-Only events targeted to fashion critics, media, buyers and other invitees. You may attend such events through direct contact with the relevant designers or via the concierge service at BRI Prioritas. However, certain events hosted by individual magazines are open for public. 8. What distinguishes this year’s Jakarta Fashion Week from last year’s?

The main distinguishing character which sets this year’s JFW apart from last year’s is the addition to the number of runway stages as well as the increased accessibility of events and activities for the public and visitors of Pacific Place Mall. There will also be a Designer’s Village where you can interact with the participating designers. This time around JFW 09/10 will also feature independent and emerging designers as well as those who are established and members of the country’s two leading organizations of designers.

Due to the overwhelming success of Jakarta Fashion Week 08, which featured several renowned Australian designers, Jakarta Fashion Week 09/10 will feature the latest collections from two Indian designers, Tarun Tahiliani dan Malini Ramani.

1. How do I participate in this event?

Please contact the JFW Business Division (partner@jakartafashionweek.co.id). We have prepared two areas namely the Fashion Bay and Fashion Promenade. The first is located right in front of M Department Store and the latter will be on Level 4 of Pacific Place Mall. You may purchase time slot packages inclusive of show direction, runway and models. You are also welcome to come and consult directly with the organizers regarding how you would like to arrange your event.
