JFW Fashion Council presents LPM Graduates THE STYLE MAKER

JFWFashion Council, whose members comprise the chief editors and editors of the prestigiousfashion medias in Jakarta, for first time performed their special fashion showthis year. JFW Fashion Council chose seven Indonesian designers of FeminaGroup’s Fashion Design Competition (Lomba Perancang Mode, or LPM).

The seven designers are: Chossy Latu, ItangYunasz, Carmanita, Denny Wirawan, Billy Tjong, Andreas Odang, and Eny Ming areactually graduates of Fashion Design Competition that was held by the FeminaGroup. Their work have been inspiring for all of us, theydeserved to be called as The Style Makers.

Chossy Latu
Chossy Latu is the firstwinner for LPM of 1979, with the theme: Songket TheNew Look which was a modern interpretation of processing Palembang’s songket into an elegant design. Chossystrength is in his craftsmanship and self-consistency of sophisticated design.So his work is always classy.

Itang Yunasz
He’s the runner up of LPM  that was held by the Femina Group in 1981. Tonight, he, who’s been the owner of thelabel Itang Yunasz, Tatum, Preview and Marrakech which spesifically make Moslemclothings, will present his collection with “Heaven Sent” as a theme. ItangYunasz is this era’s successful designer and business man, both locally andinternationally.

Carmanita
Analumnus from LPA 1987 Signature. The theme she’ll be using thistime’s expresses freedom, passion, and courage. Carmanita is consistent fromera to era, cultivating this country’s heritages into modern fashion with astrong ethnic touch.

Denny Wirawan
He is the second winnerand the most favorited designer of Fashion Designers Contest 1993. EtnoTreatale, is this year’s theme of work by Denny Wirawan that illustraes thebeauty of the world’s ethnic diversity seemed a theatre show. Each dress  represents the different character, with theits own beauty and uniqueness. The concept of ready to wear clothing that canbe easily mix-matched,  has a simpletailored style that comes with tweed, wool, and herringbone, that are combinedwith Timor, East and West Nusa Tenggara’s tenun,creating a modernly ethnic appearance. Ethnic accessories collection rangedfrom Africa, Tibet, to the Moroccan that belong to Kasha Bijaoux by SjulliDarsono, complete this series of cross-culture fashion collection.

Billy Tjong
He is the favoritewinner and runner up of LPA in 2005. “One Day in Indonesia” is a theme he’susing for this time’s show. Through his most recent collection, Billy’d like todescribe the circumstance and atmoshphere of life in Indonesia, since morning,to night. Peired with shoes collection of Fendy wong, various cocktail andevening dresses look modern and chic.

Andreas Odang
He’s the alumnus ofLPA 2005. Andreas took his own experience of brokenheart, heartache, andcomplicated love as inspirations for this year’s collection of his. Life mustgo on eventhough Love Hurts. Enjoy Andreas Odang’s this year’s collection :Love Hurts.
 
Eny Ming
She is the firstwinner of LPA 2007. As a symbol of summer, strength, and flexibility, bamboohas inspired her. With “Two Sides” as her for MING collection, this time sheuses a lot of classic tailoring technique. Different silhoulettes are combinedin a balance. Constructive vertical line is mixed with fluid draperies,meanwhile solid fabrics are combined with seethrough ones.
