New Rush from Young Designers

Jakarta Fashion Week Fashion Forward (JFW FF) was collaboration between UK-based institutions, British Council and Center for Fashion Enterprise (CFE) for Quirky Ready to Wear and Moslem Wear category. This year, JFW FF presented Bretzel, Cotton Ink, Major Minor, and Dian Pelangi on November 9th at Fashion Loft, Plaza Senayan.

“The Safari Troops” from Dian Pelangi evinced earthy tone colors: orange, maroon, brick red, yellow, and brown, fused with bright colors such as blue, pink, green, and purple in a tie-dye pattern and drapery detail. The additional gold bangles and bracelets as well as the outers heightened the opulence of her collection.

Bretzel by Imelda Kartini exhibited monochrome colors, black, grey, and navy blue, in “Acroporee” collection inspired by aquamarine life. Imelda completed the collection by extraordinarily adding coral-like hairpieces and knitting vest.

Cotton Ink by Carline Darjanto and Ria Sarwono represented their ready-to-wear Spring Summer 2013 collection entitled, “Global Sailor”. Navy and pastel colors over stripes and knitting details were incredibly fascinating applied on the collection. Cotton Ink completed the look by perfectly adding a simple and humble clutch in black, white, and grey.

Last performance was mesmerized by Major Minor from Ari Seputra, Sari Seputra, Inneke Margarethe, and Ambar Pratiwi in a stately collection colored with silver, grey, fuchsia, and yellow. A slew of tie dye pattern were also applied in this collection. Necklace, ring, and bracelet brightened in neon color perfected the quotient models that briskly walked on the runway.
