Notion of Religion in Fashion
Indonesia Muslim fashion stated their capability to go
worldwide. On 11th November 2012 in Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) 2013,
the notable Muslim designer of APPMI Iva Lativah, Herman Nuary, Lia Afif, Nieta
Hidayani, Najua Yanti, and Hannie Hananto presented their impressive
designs.
The first show on day nine was embarked by the parade of Iva
Lativah designs in a theme ‘The Cartowiru’. The theme, Cartowiru stands for
Cartography and Wiru (pleated) that
beautified her collection. The femininity and elegance were vividly depicted in
H-line and A-line silhouette.
Herman Nuary designs appeared with asymmetric apparel in
batik motif and Priangan embroidery. The Muslim apparel with dominance of
vibrant colors and sparkling Swarovski in oversized cotton, organdy and chiffon
silk wowed the attendees.
The collection of energetic colors as yellow, green and
maroon dominated Lia Afif designs in a theme Chartreuse Ambience. The ethnic
touch portrayed firmly by using Kupang songket with chiffon, Thai silk and
satin fused with India gemstones.
Afterwards, Nieta Handayani applied ulos in Muslin attire with a theme Ulos in Love. The dashing maroon
ulos paired together with silk in
dominance of drapery fascinated the crowd. Najua Yanti offered her collection
in a theme La Bella Capri, BellaBarric. Summer colors as khaki, fuchsia, light tosca, and light blue with broken
white depicted the bright apparel.
For the culmination, Anemone by Hannie Hananto in a theme
Toy Soldier magnetized the Fashion loft attendees. Military look in lurik fabric fused with drapery and
silhouettes turned to be the outstanding collection in the show.
