The Gala Opening Show

Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) 2013 is officially begun! With the theme “Indonesia Today, The World Tomorrow”, this largest fashion event ardently introduced Lie Sang Bong, a Korean designer, and Indonesian notable designer, Sebastian Gunawan in its opening show at Fashion Tent, Plaza Senayan, 3 November 2012.

In the first section, Lie Sang Bong, the Paris-based-designer, launched his collection in butterfly nuance. His couture designs were presented in irresistible palettes, start from blue, red, orange, to green. The silhouettes diversified in a peplum, structured, deconstructive, and seamed as if in origami.

His 24 attire had successfully made each guest tremendously flattered in the disparate styles start from pencil skirt, shift dress, long coat, to long dress. Besides butterfly, Rihanna, Beyonce, and Lady Gaga’s favorite designer, Lie Sang Bong, chose houndstooth in his pattern play. The collection’s then ultimately ended with a very uber-stylish raincoat in butterfly patterns and contrastive colors.

After a playful and colorful collection from Lie Sang Bong, the show was followed by a 50s silhouettes by Sebastian Gunawan. The monochromatic nuance, nude, white, and black, dominated the collection which was inspired by marble. His extraordinary signature style of Sebastian Gunawan, lace and crochet, firmly showed unvarnished quality in a series style of legging, cape, cropped tops, and pencil skirt which juxtaposed with marble element.

A feminine yet sophisticated collection of Sebastian Gunawan ultimately won the loudest burst of audience applause in his peplum, solid shoulder pads, one shoulder, off shoulder, full skirt, and mullet dress. The very super-sleek accessorized hairstyles also espoused the show. Fabolous! (Anggia Hapsari/Tim Peliput Femina)
