Exploring Indonesia

The “Indonesia Fashion Forward 6” show for the accessories designers category presented collections of Novita Yunus and Lianna G. at the Fashion Atrium of Senayan City on the fifth day of the 2014 Jakarta Fashion Week.

Lianna Gunawan showcased her newest design of premium shoes that combined batik and carving in her label Lianna G. The products illustrated her consistency in exploring the rich culture of Indonesia. Lianna with the theme “Capturing Nature, Transforming Soles” showed drawings of frangipani, birds and peacocks on the wood-based shoes. The concept behind this idea was to utilize unused mahogany and transformed it to premium-look heels. She hoped that this transformation-to-art would bring out colors and happiness from the wearers.

Shoes are not only footwear. Like other women, Lianna Gunawan also loves shoes. This time around she revealed her newest design in premium products that combined batik and carving. The collection was vased on her wish to promote more the rich and beautiful nature of Indonesia.
After a long work in label Batik Chic, Novita Yunus launched a new and more premium label, NovitaYunus.

On this show, she exhibited the collection themed “Hat Geometry” with a hat design inspired by Dayak Oheng of West Kutai, East Kalimantan. The wide-brim hats with typical paintings of East Kalimantan were mixed with clothes with geometry-motif batik on some parts, thus making an exquisite and graceful look. Novita also explored the Tuban batik for her bag collection. (Imma Rachmani/Pesona)
