ISIS Exploration: The Jakarta Face

It was the third time of the label founded in 2010 to appear at Jakarta Fashion Week. This year, ISIS presented a show titled Megalopolis showcasing its SS14 collection. Inspired by the hustle and bustle of big cities, ISIS, which was created by Andrea Risjad and Amot Syamsuri Muda, explored the frenzied life in Jakarta.
The show opened by a parade of purple, yellow tops and mini dresses with overlapping motifs that gave an impression of watching the city Jakarta from behind the wild reeds. Moving on to the futuristic collection, ISIS presented mini dresses with wide shiny lime green skirts. The color then re-appeared in cropped jackets and straight green mini dresses with a long zipper accent at the back. In this collection, a street wear style revolved around gray, black, and brown appeared in geometric motifs.
In the next session, ISIS featured formal mini dresses. Drapery gray, purple, and pastel pink dresses looked simple in exceptional cuttings. ISIS also pretty much showcased unique white and blue loose knitwear. Skinny pants, batwing tops, and long-tailed shirts were put on by models with a large body size.
In addition to surprising the audience with simple, yet captivating clothes – Muda said that ISIS’s collection was colorfully packed like the life of Jakarta: busy, honest, and making you not to think too hard. At the end of the show, ISIS surprised the audience by providing additional sequences with celebrities. After previously having Dimas Beck and Thomas Djorghi worn dashing white shirts, Ruth Sahanaya, Titi DJ, Titi Rajobintang, and Melly Goeslaw also made appearance. Dira Sugandhi nicely ended the show with her beautiful voice. (Nungky Saad/ Women’s Health Indonesia)
