Posh and Poised

The second part of the Abineri Ang atelier et createur de
mode also titled “My Project Runway” had the Indonesian-essence offerings as
seen at the Fashion Tent on October 21st, 2013. Opening the show,
Abit Couture and Tongam Simanjuntak exhibited a series of casual clothes and
dresses with a batik touch. Tongam, specifically, intended to make
less-international dresses but still have the modernistic look.

Next, Gracia Shinta picked “Femme Fatale” as the theme of
her collection. Not only the dresses looked glamour and elegant through the
dominating black, but Gracia also added trail in almost every design.

Shella Tanzilla also had black dominating her collection.
But this time around it was blended beautifully with a touch of gold, fur, brocade,
and tile; making the pieces looked luxurious.
She also used the ruffle technique in making the clothes.

The show continued with the colorful “Summer Grace” by Vera
Tjan. The richness of Indonesian culture was utterly apparent in her design
through the unique national weaving and tile fabrics.

Then Imelda Hadiyono with “Bride” showcased her elegant
collection full of cream, nude, and black colors. The dresses also created a
deluxe impression through sequins.

Last but not least, Abineri Ang presented a collection “La
Memoire” with a romantic Paris ambience. The collection was also ornamented
with weaving, sequins, tile, brocade, and many other unique techniques.
