The Charm of the Mosaics

On the second day of Jakarta Fashion Week 2014 held at the fashion tent, a fashion show with the theme “TROIKA Series” presented FitRosa, KAMI, and Restu Anggraini, three Muslim wear labels of Rumah Ayu. The show was a breath of fresh air to the Indonesian Muslim wear fashion industry. TROIKA motives were inspired by the abstract mosaics technique casted in three lines of different designs that matched the identity of each designer’s style.

Inspired by the Indian Chic, Restu Anggraini incorporated the elements of tassel and rock sequins. Layering, draping, and ruffles accent techniques appeared stunning through the palettes of turquoise blue, mint green, white, and gray that added an impression of feminine yet edgy.

KAMI’s “TROIKA Series” brought back the triumph of Islam in Turkey, Persia, and Morocco into a modern interpretation of the cross-time. Experimenting by combining motives, TROIKA got an infusion of KAMI’s contemporary batik in khaki, dusty pink, gray, and black, making every piece of clothing unique yet easily matched.

Meanwhile, FitRosa took inspiration from the rapid advancement of Islam in the southern part of European countries such as Spanyol, Greece, and Portugal. Attempting to catch the beauty of the reflection of the sunset on the ocean surface, FitRosa combined turquoise blue with a touche of yellow and orange that were emphasized by black tinge and chose a comfortable light material. In addition, there were also Russian influence apparent in dark purple velvet and luxurious fuchsia.
