Young Designers’ Passion

Shahnaz Soraya presented her label NEZ with its ready-to-wear collection inspired by the unexpected weather namely RAIN/HOT Season 2014. Choosing the theme “Pop Romance”, Soraya combined neon with monochrome by using fold technique and pleats. This Esmod alumnus also used asymmetric cutting that produced a simple and fresh look.
Meanwhile, Sere Marini Simanjuntak with her label Se brought up the theme “Construction Dream” that was inspired by a dream when the galaxy became its limit and the sunset was the perfect moment to free that mind. Silvy Dwianti with her label VY also brought up the same galaxy theme “City in the Galaxy”. Dwianti made her collection look stunning by using a tie-dye technique (Shirobi), block cutting, and a little touch of beading detail.
The theme “Neo Mythologism” was chosen by a young designer Sisca Tjong. Her collection was inspired by the ancient myth elements and translated into a more modern feeling through motifs, shapes, and classic silhouettes that were applied to cutting detail and silhouette twist adjusted to the body shape.
The show ended by the extravagant work of Imelda Kartini with the theme “Concettismo” that was dominated by the classical baroque motif and combination of red, gold, and dusty pink. The materials used including silk, tulle embroidery, and sequins.
