Collaboration Mentor and Students Istituto di Moda Burgo Indonesia
Istituto di Moda Burgo Indonesia (IMB) is the only Italian fashion school in Indonesia. One of its mentors is Ardistia Dwiasri whose label is Ardistia New York. At Jakarta Fashion Week 2017 (26/10), Ardistia collaborated with seven designers from IMB with their own brand.
The opening show was Kyra by Shahira Habsy. The bag collection, Clairvoyance – My Dream Universe, presented in eights looks from four labels: Ardistia New York, Alan Tan, Reagita Zoro, and vatthu. All were in white to balance Kyra’s bags, which had pop colors, such as strawberry sorbet, orange, green, and blue. Made from high quality leather, the bags were stylish as well as functional.
The bridal collection from Oki Setiana Dewi, Chastity of Goddes, was also in white. She was inclined to use white because it is still the favorite color of Indonesian brides. Inspired by Greek goddess, this collection had pleat as its key detail. The presence of Swarovski on her collection was definitely her signature and undoubtedly gave elegant demeanour to all dresses.
After the white elegancy, RAEGITAZORO by Raegita Zoro presented her show, Evolution. This time she took insights from Ondel Ondel (the Batavian big puppets). The cheerful music that associated with Ondel Ondel burnt the stage. Models were strutting elegantly, cladded in casual wears in blue, white, yellow and black. A black drapery maxi skirt with zipper outer embodied the elegancy of her collection.
Next was Dayang Numbar Collection from vatthu which was inspired by women in Tanimbar, an area in Maluku. Tanimbar women decorated their ears with gold accessories called Kmwene. The colors from Kmwene were used as main colors then combined with grey, black, and brown. Those colors applied in blazer, shirt, trousers and magically gave dynamic style. Vatthu is a fashion brand founded by three designers, Amelia Dianty, Anindita Sosrodimulyo, and Ajeng Maharshi.
Label Alan Tan by Alan Tjahjadi later showed a collection called Enduring Reflection. Mini dress and white playsuit commenced the show. Later on, Alan Tan unfolded maxi dress with modern silhouette and a yellow feather dress closed the show.
Lastly, the mentor, Ardistia with her label, Ardistia New York, concluded the show with collection called Neoteric Gene. This was a debut for Spring 2017 Menswear and a preview for Spring 2017 Womenswear. The collection was focus on neutral pallet with colors: fresh white, classic camel, iron grey and infinite black. Each look was a composition of innovative silhouettes, asymmetric layer, and architectural cut, in stretch crepe, denim and cotton.
