Jakarta Fashion Week 2017 Welcomed Julie Bishop

On its fifth day, Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) 2017 was welcomed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Australia, Julie Bishop. This was her eighth visition to Indonesia since she became Foreign Affairs Minister and JFW was part of her destination.

Together with Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Femina Group, Ibu Svida Alisjahbana and Chairman of Indonesian Creative Economic Agency, Triawan Munaf, Miss Bishop did some short incident investigations to some of designer’s booth at JFW, such as Paulina Katarina, Toton The Label, Peggy Hartanto , other graduates from Australian universities.

In this rare opportunities, Miss Bishop conveyed her aspiration about the collaboration between Australian and Indonesian fashion. For her, fashion industry was a very significant sector towards global economy. Bishop hoped in the future Indonesian designer could display their work at Australian Fashion Week. In her opinion, Indonesia and Australia area neighboors thad has cooperated in many sectors, but the most dynamic and creative is this fashion industry.
