Monochromatic and Bold: The Latest from Elvara Jandini Subiyakto X Margaux

Bali again became the inspiration for Indonesian designer. The collection was disclosed at Jakarta Fashion Week 2017 (28/10) in EJS in Collaboration with Margaux, supported by Samsung.

In the show, EJS collaborated with Margaux label, founded by Villa Triadi, Mayang Fajar and Nancy Baharrizki. Both brands have a common concept: easy wear and leisure style.

Indonesian designer, Elvara Jandini Subyakto (EJS) took “Kaja, Kangin, Kelod dan Kauh” as a theme, taken from Bali words meaning north, east, south, and west. Elvara had observed cardinal directions through her perspective and then applied it into her design for Spring/ Summer 2017 collection.

The brand new collection from EJS which dominated by tie dye then combined with batik motive. The fusion between these two motives was then simplified into leisure wear. The edgy demeanor in unique cutting was still suitable for daily activities.

The combination of two distinct characters created a stronger collection. The reason was that Margaux accentuated more monochromatic composition yet EJS played with bright and bold colors. Even though had different characters, both brands completed each other. Not to mention that this collaboration, EJS x Margaux, transformed their latest collection to be more applicable in casual and formal look.
