The Debut of Young Designers

LasSalle College Jakarta once more presented the works from its students at Jakarta Fashion Week 2017 (JFW) in Fashion Tent, Senayan City Jakarta. This year, the fashion institution descended with a show called “Debutante”. The runway was consumed with the pieces from the students of Fashion Design and Fashion Bussiness Department . In total, there were 10 designers incised their work debut on JFW runway.

Those designers were Beth Callista, Dena Meidina, Intan Wardi, Sonya Rezqia Putri, Nadya Ummu Zahba, Stella Surya Tenggara, Kezia Davita, Rizky Ramdhan, Ensemble by Bonnie Natasha Arif, and Seamplay by Nabilla Chika Amran. They unfolded a very dynamic and distinguished collections.

The exploration in materials and details was eloquently exposed in each collection. Beth Callista was for instance, with the feminine silhouette. The student from Fashion Design Department emerged with a show called “Chinoiserie” which was inspired by Tiongkok porcelain. The combination between paillette and 3D embroidery showed her exceptional skill in fashion industry.

There was alo a collection from Seamplay, a brand found by Nabilla Chika Amran with her two classmates, Regina Abigail and Felicia Benita, as their final work at LaSalle College Jakarta. Their collection, Bada (Korean word, meaning sea), played colors and textures extensively. Dominated by simple cutting clothes, this collection was more than perfect for everyone who loves chic and minimalistic style.
