Modestwear Collection by the Actress on Jakarta Fashion Week 2018 Runway

Jakarta, October 23, 2017. Oki Setiana Dewi, gained her popularity after snatching Best New Actress Award at Indonesia Movie Award 2010, presented her 15 modestwear pieces. The collection looked so unique it motivates all hijabers to look stunningly elegant in all ocassion.

In her "Coat" theme, Oki uses outerwear common colours, such as black, blue, purple, gold, tosca green, and maroon, to bring out strong personality. The materials she uses are also light, like baby terry pleats, satin, and jacquard. Modern, smart, and elegant were obviouly shown on unique graphical texture designs, Oki’s own signature.

The inspiration was born in Germany when she joined student exchange program in 2017. "It lasted 2 weeks, October 7-21 2017. I got scholarship from Germany government. Out of 1000 applications, only 14 got selected, who came from various background, such as journalist, writer, scholars, and so on," reveals Oki to Femina, Monday, October 23, 2017.

Although born in Germany, the inspiration needed to interpret correctly and precisely into sharia law, meant it should have super long head cover, belly covering, all the way to thigh and calves, and been most likely layered, lackluster, and loose. Such challenges Oki who always digs innovation and creativity to dodge boredom stigma in modestwear style.

"My collection gives away elegant and charismatic impression, hence it is suitable for women ranged in age 23 to 35. It consists of versatile style and cut you can wear it to formal and semi-formal event. I join Jakarta Fashion Week 2018 to introduce my brand and increase the sales," reveals Oki.

On that ocassion, Oki shared the runway with two other modestwear brands. They were Mayra by Yusra Rahmawati and Meta Irawati. It is a brand that offers egdy cut and simplicity. The other label was Darabirra by Hj. Aisyah Rupnidah Chan, showing Jambi Batik in bungo pauh and jasmine motis. The label succesfully brought in elegance and style onto the stage.
