Being Original is a Must

As part of program in Jakarta Fashion Week 2016, the British Council and the CLEO Magazine Indonesia presenting talk show with three designers themed "Crazy, Cool, and Successful". The tree designers shared their tips and stories behind their career in fashion industry. They are Ed Marler, Rinda Salmun, Franky Wongkar and Jeffrey Jeff from brand Frej. The event is held in Fashionlink, The Hall, Senayan City, October 29, 2015, hosted by Margaretha Untoro, Editor in Chief of CLEO magazine.
 
The British designer, Ed Marler, who is known for his eccentric design talk about the importance of thinking out of the box as a designer. "I'm trying to continue to innovating so that the uniqueness of my brand can attract the fashion icons. Having a clear business plan is also very important for the sake of your brand," said Ed.

 

Rinda Salmun, Indonesian designers who are now having a career in UK also shared her experience. With the wearable art design philosophy that comes from art and fashion, Rinda continue to highlight the original design of Indonesia. "The key to achieve our success in fashion industry is, to make sure that our design is original and do not be afraid with our uniqueness," said Rinda.
 
In line with Rinda Salmun, Franky Wongkar and Jeffrey Jeff who has built an accessory brand Frej also believe that have a unique product designs is essential in order to survive in fashion industry. "Do not get stuck follow trends. As a designer, we cannot be a follower. Do not forget to provide a good customer service so the customers are satisfied and eventually they will become a loyal customer," said Franky & Jeffrey.
