Inspired by the East Indonesia by Binus Northumbria

Binus Northumbria School of Design (BNSD) enlivens the stage of Jakarta Fashion Week 2016 on the fourth day. BNSD brings 10 best of their designers to showcase the range of clothing inspired by the cultural richness of Flores, East of Nusa Tenggara. Every designer, whom are a three-semester students, features four to five look with the peculiarities of each character designs, based on the theme “Post Modern Voyage to Flores.”
 
Divided into three sections show, Adela Nadia, Nadya Amanda, Selena Fitriany, Mira Pranoto, Agatha Aprilia Dewanti, July Hendry Steven, Gessayu Parameswari, Syafira Azhari, Hollie Newton, and Kate Skelton come forward a collection of ready-to-wear clothing, such as loose fitterd blouse, tunic, vests, culottes, and skirts, combined with typical Flores woof. Ranging from monochromatic colors, sky blue, pastel pink to vibrant color; such as red and orange, set out the weaving, beading, and embroidery.
 

Interestingly, in order to prepare the collection, the designers were able to visit Flores for four days to conduct research material, style, and also interact with the culture in order to deepen the strength of every design.
