Suzuki Takayuki’s Taste of Japan and Indonesia

The Indonesian weft is indeed unique and has a peculiar fascination; that has endless of charm to explore. One of Japanese designer, Suzuki Takayuki from Nagoya, Japan, has fallen in love with the Indonesian woof, the Batik.
 
On the second day of Jakarta Fashion Week 2016 the said designer from the Land of The Rising Sun set off a trend in collaboration with Michelle Tjokrosaputro, from local brand “Bateeq”; converting the batik into a modern piece.
 

On the 28th of October, take place at Fashionlink, The Hall Senayan City, Suzuki showcase a 24 look mini-collection that adapts the concept “Unfinished Natural Look”. The entire collection uses organic materials as an outcome of recycling old fabrics. In course of using recycled material; this designer from Japan has been an-old player in the industries, give or take 20 years. He indeed was a trendsetter
 
As a tribute to Indonesia, Suzuki also teams-up with a retail store that produce Batik Solo; “Danrilis”, creating new prints combining batik and modern art, like geometric and polka-dot.
 
Loose silhouette top, culottes, and simple dresses covered in white and blue filled Suzuki’s collection; not forgetting the scarfs for accessories. A more playful design also comes with a t-shirt dress, pleated baby-doll dress, and bohemian style blazer. Giving out a more dreamy and innocent image, presents the long white dress complete with ruffles on the bottom and side of the piece. Comfortable, and free spirited is what describe the whole collection.
