The Outstanding Consistency of Jakarta Fashion Week

Jakarta Fashion Week 2016 is officially opened with the eight times declaration of tambourine by the Governor of Jakarta, Basuki Tjahaya Purnama and the Chairman of Jakarta Fashion Week also CEO of Femina Group, Svida Alisjahbana.
 
Basuki Tjahaya in his welcoming speech said that this event is a form of outstanding consistency in the fashion world. At the first time he came to the event in 2012, he thought that he as a Governor of Jakarta wanted to be more involved in the fashion world. "I wanted to create a co-working place in the center of Jakarta for young designers. There must be so many young designers who want to make a creation but cannot afford the machines and any advanced tools that can support them. Therefore, I want to make a kind of place which enable them to promote their creations. I hope it can be realized next year so that it can developing the economy," he said.
 

Moreover, in the opening, Svida said that the event which has been held eight times by this year is not just a festive week of a beautiful fashion show but Jakarta Fashion Week is truly part of potential development program which planned to build a national fashion industry also as a tough player in the regional fashion industry, even in the world. "Together with all stakeholders, Jakarta Fashion Week might be a journey to build the progressive fashion ecosystem," she said.
 
Besides, Veri Y. Setiady, CEO of Senayan City which has became the venue of Jakarta Fashion Week for the third time, welcoming Jakarta Fashion Week 2016. "A week ahead, Jakarta will be partying. We saw the positive influence of JFW toward the development of local designers. That is why we are committed to support this event by launching a capsule collection with some of the young designers. Hopefully with the presence of JFW, it can make Jakarta as a top destination for shopping and got a place in the fashion world map," he said.
 
There are more than 50 designers involved in the Jakarta Fashion Week 2016 such as Dian Pelangi, Eridani, Billy Tjong, Albert Yanuar, Ivan Gunawan, Peggy Hartanto, and many other names. This largest fashion event in Southeast Asia will last until October 30th, 2015, at Senayan City, Jakarta.
