A Model Citizen

Laura started modeling when she was 14 and her career momentum gained significant ground in 2009 when she was selected as the “It Model” of a fashion magazine and a year later she won the best model, selected by designers, at the Jakarta Fashion Week.
Laura’s passion extends beyond the glamorous world of fashion. She has joined a social solidarity community group called Sahabat Anak two years ago. Since then, if her weekends are free, she spends every Saturday and Sunday teaching street children English, mathematics, history, and physics.
Laura adds that she also sometimes helps out as a freelance to help the cause of Indonesian migrant workers, most of whom are women, at the National Commission on Women and Migrant Care. “My goal is to one day work for the United Nations, taking care the causes of women and children. I will leave my modeling career for this,” she said.
