A Reflection of Advanced Technology in Fashion Design

A Fashion Designer Competition (LPM) alumni, Cynthia Tanujaya , or more commonly known as Cynthia Tan, will participate in the 2013 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2013. Along with PT Mazda Motor Indonesia (MMI), Cynthia Tan collaborates in showcasing her collection for Zoom-Zoom Girl Mazda through 3D concept by combining three neutral colors: white, black and grey. According to her, this concept is a combined result of characteristics of Mazda which together bring forward the futuristic elements and modernity, as reflected in their products identical with its advanced technology.

Cynthia uses duchess and leather materials sewn by using topstitching technique. The duchess material is used to bring out the shiny fabric texture, while the leather material gives the maximum comfort, as Mazda always offers in their products.

Cynthia mentions that she is honored to become one of the three young and vibrant designers chosen by MMI. “This is a valuable chance for me as a young fashion designer in Indonesia fashion industry because then my designs have a chance to be recognized by public through media partners,” she said.

Furthermore, Astrid Ariani Wijana as the Senior Marketing Manager of PT Mazda Motor Indonesia explains Cynthia’s involvement in the event is a form of commitment of Mazda in developing the fashion industry in Indonesia, along with Mazda’s main focus which is to show cutting edge design in its products.

Last year, Cynthia Tan was also present on the 2013 JFW runway in Mazda Young and Vibrant Designer with Frederich Herman and Toton Januar. In 2011, Cynthia gained a second place in the Fashion Designer Competition (LPM) held by Femina Group. Her futuristic and quality designs with a distinct characteristic of leather also brought her in achieving the Golden Needle Award, a special award of Esmod Paris for the top student in terms of design, pattern, etc on the Esmod Graduation Show.
