An Hour with Thunder and Fashion

"I was enjoying the filming in Indonesia, there was not any serious obstruction. We had all supporting conditions and the team could work together pretty well," said the 1990-born actor, opening the conversation.

In the movie, directed by Ody C. Harahap, Thunder acted as a K-pop idol who has a love affair with an Indonesian girl, played by Caitlin Hadlerman. Thunder explained, "During filming, I wore many semi-formal clothes, just like K-pop idols in general.  Such style fitted to character I played."

Although his character never wore Indonesian signature clothes, such as Batik and kinds, Thunder admits that he wore quite many local brands when shooting.

Nevertheless, in his daily life, he doesn’t always style himself a K-pop idol. "I always try to wear functional fashion item. If it’s cold, I love playing with layers. If it’s hot, I prefer t-shirts and shorts. My main focus is, in fact, shoes," revealed Thunder, whose big sister is Sandara Park, a K-pop Idol as well.

Reputedly, the actor is in shoes collecting mood. The kinds he’s seeking after the most are shiny or metallic-colored shoes and Jordan series from Nike.

On Jakarta Fashion Week’s second day, Thunder got the chance to be a guest star on Indonesia Fashion Forward’s fashion show. The show presented collections from Etterette, Paulina Katarina, and Norma Hauri. The actor felt amazed watching it.

"I have visited so many countries, making moslem wear or modest wear is not a strange thing for me. However, yesterday, it was my experience to see hijab directly on runway," explains Thunder. He thinks that hijab style in Indonesia is different from any other countries, and only Indonesian can create such style.

"I think it extremely unique, that the Indonesian hijab has bold dimension. I told my stylist when watching the show that I could wear one of the outer showing on stage for my new album promotion!", he talked enthusiastically about Norma Hauri’s collection.

Thunder will return at K-Invasion event, presenting two Korean brands, August Alive and Daily Mirror, at Fashion Atrium Senayan City, October 25, 2017, on 5pm.
