Cheerful Motifs and Daring Colors

The Australia-based label Fame Agenda shared the stage with May & June at the Fashion Atrium of the 2014 Jakarta Fashion Week. Fame Agenda opened the show with “Las Vegas”. From instant weddings to the iconic Elvis Presley, everything about this city was the inspiration behind this collection. The City That Never Sleeps was poured into this 2014 Summer/Spring collection filled with bold electrical colors as well as graphic motifs.

Many clothes had cuttings on back, chest and sleeve, and there were also flare pants and sleeves ala Elvis’. The perfectly belly-covering high-waisted pants were combined with crop tops. The pink, green and bright yellow accentuated the exquisite design. Not to mention, the glowing accents also showed the gleaming Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, May & June was not less cheerful in presenting its collection. Taking a theme “Portrait of a Lady”, Grace Kelly was chosen as the brand’s muse. Floral prints were still the main feature of May & June, but this time they were bigger with bolder colors. The peplum with bright colored floral prints turned heads at the show.

But motif fabrics were not the only stunner on the show; the plain ones also looked special. Flowers were still featured in the chiffon dresses, but this time they were in embroideries and stick-on matching or contrasting the fabric’s color like the roses on white chiffon dresses. Feminine and gorgeous. (Mariska Sebayang/Women’s Health Indonesia)
