Culture Collaboration

As a part of the 40th year anniversary of diplomatic relation between Indonesia and Korea, the Korean Cultural Center presented the collection of label Kaal E. Suktae by Lee Suk Tae, and the collection of Albert Yanuar at the Fashion Tent of the 2014 Jakarta Fashion Week. Each designer showed their cross-cultural fashion collection.
Lee Suk Tae used the original Indonesian weaving fabric from the Garut silk gallery. The modern clothes looked simple and chic through the print details and structural cutting on the Korean and Indonesian traditional fabrics.
Meanwhile, Albert Yanuar brought the collection inspired by hanbok, the Korean traditional dress. Albert used material with Korean-calligraphy-motif by the designer Lie Sang Bong, and was inspired by the Korean lotus flowers resembling the country’s appreciation to the nature. Besides being dominated by pastel colors, the collection also had embroidery and sequins details. (Felicia/Femina)
