Fashion and Culinary at Pasar Indonesia

After the Jakarta Fashion Week officially initiated, now it was Pasar Indonesia’s turn to hit the Fashion Tent runway this Saturday, October 19, 2013, in a spectacular fashion show.
Pasar Indonesia consists of a group of small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) assisted by Bank Mandiri in various fields – fashion to culinary. Pasar Indonesia got its own place during the event Jakarta Fashion Week 2014 with a comfortable and a spacious booth located on the opposite side of the Fashion Tent.
On the fashion show that was attended by the wife of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Herawati Boediono and the State Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Business, Syarief Hasan, there were 5 young designers collaborated with the SMEs entrepreneurs assisted by Bank Mandiri. They were Eridani, Monday to Sunday, Milcah, N.F.R.T., and Vinora Ng. The five designers, who are very talented, had participated in numerous prestigious competitions, such as Lomba Perancang Mode and CLEO Fashion Award.
Meanwhile, at the outlets located at UG floor of Senayan City, a variety of captivating outfits with material works of SMEs crafters were exhibited. Batik, silk, and tenun from various regions in Indonesia were processed by the designers into a contemporary design that exudes modernity, the youth style, and far from being boring or ‘severe’.
Pasar Indonesia fashion show ended by the official opening of Pasar Indonesia. Indonesian songs were jazzy arranged by Bandanaira and enlivened the atmosphere. Thereafter, the visitors can enjoy the snacks and crafts provided at Pasar Indonesia booth.
