Fashion Designers Contest in Finding New Talent

Starting a career in the fashion industry through Fashion Designers Competition (LPM) could be a success guarantee for Indonesian young designers. People know Samuel Wattimena, Itang Yunasz, Albert Januar, Jeffry Tan, Tex Saverio, and many more through LPM. Through this 27th time of LPM, Femina Group is back looking for new talents who are ready to compete in the fashion industry. With the theme "Style Expression", the show which held on Friday, October 30, 2015, has challenged the finalists to presents the clothes that make the women free to express themselves.
 
Through the tight assesment by the judges Svida Alisjahbana (CEO Femina Group), Leila Safira (Editor in Chief and Chief Community Officer Dewi magazine), Moses Widyatmodjo, Itang Yunasz, Ali Charisma, Erwin Suganda (Creative Director UBS Gold), and Andhini Effendi (presenter and alumni face Femina), the 10 finalists were selected. Not only deciding which creation that meets the design criteria, but the value of the clothing is also part of an important point.

The first winner, Ansy Savitri, presenting a collection titled The Charming Woman. This collection undoubtedly will make the women looks charming. The long sleeveless dress was uniquely made by half jacket accents. It is more interesting because Ansy Savitri chose bright colors such as yellow and orange. The audience also captivated by her collection as she has presented a combination of asymmetric tops and flare skirts in one look, resulting in a more dynamic fashion.
 

Ninette Marasuchi who became the runner up chose Kylie Jenner as her inspiration. Her collection which titled Syrene was very sexy and mysterious. It enhanced with see-through material. Ninette Marasuchi also used neoprene material which is now happening in the fashion industry.
 
While the third winner, Arlini Pramudya, presenting a unique collection by combining traditional with modern elements. She was adding the typical carvings of Asmat into her design, consists of tops with cape-shaped to the cape with sharp cutting. Her collection that entitled The Ageless Spirited Women is very suitable for active and powerful target market.
 
Not only chose the three winners, LPM was also opened the online voting and SMS. Through that voting, Melody Utomo was selected as a favorite winner. Her collection was presented in the tree-shaped root patterns applied to silk and semi-wool materials, resulting in a collection for tough women.
 
The four winners are entitled to get a cash prize, award, and a free subscription of Femina group magazine. At the end of the show, there are collections from LPM alumni, presented Albert Yanuar’s collection which adorned with jewelry from UBS Gold Jewellery. Various elegant monochrome clothing from Albert Yanuar blends perfectly with the latest collections of UBS that using fusion coloring technology. Creating a modern design with beautiful colors that very stylish.
 
Hopefully through this event, the four designers will be the next style makers who are not only known in Indonesia but also internationally.
