Fashion Meets Music!

Repeating last year’s success, this year’s Jakarta Fashion Week once again presented the collaboration between fashion and music. The fashion show themed “Women Who Rocks the World” showcased the works of two female designers inspiring all Indonesian women. 

They were Asky Febrianti and Lenny Agustin. There were also presentations by Nita Sofanni and Giovana Cantisano Campgnon, two students of MDIS School of Fashion and Design Singapore.

There were live music and singer on the fashion show; the singer Bonita opened the show as the models walked the runway in the haute couture designs of Ask by Asky. The elegant black dress with gold thread stole the show that night. 

The second collection themed “Lennor” by Lenny Agustin was accompanied by the singer Citra Skolastika. It consisted of batik clothes in pop colors that look girlie, modern and playful. Afterward, the jazz singer Syaharani sang passionately in the third sequence as the models came out in the sporty collection of Pettifogr by Anastasia Hoeng.

In the last sequence, the singer Kikan looked gothic, as the feminine-rock collection of Nita and Giovana was also full of black clothes with sexy and glamorous details.

Along with the Dewi Fashion Knights show, this U Rocks by UFM show became the rousing closing celebration of the 7-day 2014 Jakarta Fashion Week. (Novita Permatasari/Cleo)
