For the Indonesian Women

Yayasan Jantung Indonesia (Indonesian Heart Foundation) launched a health campaign program Go Red for Women as a reminder of the heart and blood vessel disease as women are the number one victim. Associating with the Jakarta Fashion Week, Yayasan Jantung Indonesia teams up with Oscar Lawalata in delivering this message to the fashionistas in his show “I Am Indonesian” at the Fashion Tent on October 22nd, 2013.

Oscar did not only feature the traditional fabrics as Indonesian women’s fashion identity, but also delivered the message to be more concern about health. To be a stylish or high-fashioned woman does not require smoking or drinking alcohol as they can damage your health.

Oscar hoped that his designs could inspire the Indonesian women to love traditional fabrics more and wear them on many occasions. He chose the songket fabric from Bali, fabric from East Nusa Tenggara and other places like Flores, Timor Island and Niki-Niki. The fabrics were transformed into the ready-to-wear pieces such as maxi dress, skirt, and comfy pants.

On this fashion show, Oscar also presented his muses like Susan Bachtiar, Zivanna Letisha, Rini Maramis, Anita Buntaran, Wanda Ponika, and many others. They walked the runway in his red-dominating collection. (Tenni Purwanti/Pesona)
