Itang Yunaz’s Great Dedication

“I wanted to prove that Muslim fashion, which based on Syari’ah, could also be fashionable and stylish,” said Itang. Since then he has now four lines: the high end namesake Itang Yunasz, Tatum for Moslem working woman, the youthful line Marrakech and the recently launched Kamilaa.
With the four lines, Itang’s creations could be accessed by the different strata of the Indonesian fashion consumers. This shrewd segementation has enabled him to become one of the most commercially successfull fashion designers today. Itang has also made significant inroads into the international Moslem wear market. Itang’s designs have been featured in fashion shows in Dubai, Monaco, London, and Paris.
Despite his success, he still feels that the domestic fashion industry shows little appreciation toward the potential of Moslem fashion. His goal for the next 10 years is to establish a major Moslemwear outlet. “Like Zara of the Moslem version,” he stated.
