The Indonesian Weft in Japanese Design
Jakarta Fashion Week again engages the Japan Fashion Week Organization. This year, famous designer from the land of the rising sun, Takayuki Suzuki, has been showcasing his collection at the Tokyo Collection Week since 2007; also a second line Ikkuna / Suzuki Takayuki, in collaboration with Michelle Tjokrosaputro, from local brand “Bateeq”. With the concept of "Time and Harmony, Aging and Consonance", they both focused on innovating batik and other selective materials, with the colors and prints inspired by the richness of Indonesian culture.
There are three prints used by Suzuki in 11 of 30 look presented, namely Sekar Kamulyan, chivalry and weaver; the print with the seize pattern he chooses for its traditional value, it fits the creative modern fashion. Consist in shades of blue; the prints were applied to scarf, midi dress, blouses, and skirts that are predominantly white and loose pieces. In order to fit the Indonesia market, including modest women market, Suzuki presents also several long sleeve blouse paired with skirts or pants with midi cuts and a loose fall.
