The Rainbow Archipelago

The diversity in fashion is identical to the picturesque rainbow colors. Built upon that statement, APPMI designer, Hengki Kawilarang rendered a show entitled Rainbow in the last day of Jakarta Fashion Week 2013. Hengki fused the modern fashion apparel with the touch of traditional craftsmen works.

Impressive cocktail dresses and elegant night gowns embellished the 48 apparel of Hengki Kawilarang on Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) 2013 day ten. In the multicolor of rainbow, the silk with modern details as sequins, gold brocade and plush crystal embroidery of Indonesia craftsmen portrayed the splendor of his stunning designs.

Brocade textures and A-line silhouette dominated the apparel which is outers and skirts. The artistic jacket in 80’s shoulder cutting depicted the touch of the retro vintage in his designs. The astonishing 8 night gowns in vibrant multicolor rainbow paired together with straw clutch bag won the round of applause from the crowd.
