Three Contemporary Labels in Creation
As a curtain call show, Indonesia Fashion Forward presented (IFF) Peggy Hartanto, Sean & Sheila, and Major Minor Maha.
Elected “Forgotten” as the title, Sean & Sheila obtained their insights from Chinese culture archive, the Tang dynasty. Presented in orange, teal, purple, black, gold nudges, military uniforms of Tang dynasty appeared bold with the exertion of vibrant embroideries.
It was a contrast story to Peggy Hartanto. For Summer 2017 Collections, Peggy Hartanto was fascinated with the iconic portrait of Lili Elbe by the fine-artist, Gerda Wegener. The dualism was defined by Peggy by contrasting colors yet complementing them at the same time, as seen in earthy pastel colors, proportional volume, and a touch of esthetic design from 20’s.
The next show was Major Minor Maha. Inspired by the ginkgo tree, the symbol of hope and peace in China, Major Mina Maha created them as the embroidered decorations and the main attribute of the show. The collections were presented predominantly in soft colors, dusty green pallet, and midnight blue.
