Tribute To Irma Hardisurya

Jakarta, 3rd November 2014. The opening show of Jakarta Fashion Week 2015 felt so special, because a special present given to one of Indonesian fashion icon, Irma Hardisurya. Her step career started in 1972 and she was asked for filling page on the femina fashion magazine. Since the time, Irma wrote a lot about fashion and reported fashion show around the world. The special thing, Irma is Art and Design Alumni, ITB, She transferred what she got from report into sketch and the reader got presentation about the newest fashion.

Irma is one of initiators fashion designer competition too that had graduated famous designers in Indonesia. Four of them showed the collection of design in this afternoon at fashion tent.  They were selected by JFW Fashion Council involve all the leader of press media or leader of fashion division lifestyle magazine. 

The first collection was shown by Stepahnus Hamywith in bright clothing as green, blue and red. The collection still had features from the designer as pleats skirt and fit body apparel. The uniqueness of this collection was on the ethnic neutral colors belt which seems so bold on a simple gown. 

Caramanita was on the next sequence and presented one collection by dividing the theme by two different colors. Six of her designs had colorful color as purple and yellow, with drape cutting mixed with pipe pants. The impression of this show was casual, elegant, and absolutely suitable to wear in the afternoon or night.  Another six designs dominated with white and cream mixed with gold. The design reminded us about Indian women wear sari fabric which is sexy and elegant. 

Jeffy Tan run over the third sequence and showed his casual clothing as his latest collection.   He started his collections from culottes, cocktail dress, to jumpsuit with wide detail that flowed sexily when the wearer walked. White, cream, gold, grey and black were shown in his collection. 

Fashion show closed by a showcase from Yelly Lumentu that displayed suitable clothing worn day and night for casual and semiformal occasion.  The collections were short pants mixed with long vest, and also dress with layered sheer that flow sexily.  The detail of string was bundled the shoulder, became a sweet thing on the design.
