British Designers Stole Indonesian’s Attention
Jakarta, 4th November 2014. The typical cool and modern British style looked different last night at Jakarta Fashion Week 2015. Through her talented hand, Kitty Joseph, a designer from London, featured the latest collection for Spring/Summer 2015 in collaboration with the British Council. This is the first time Kitty collection introduced her collection in Indonesia, and she chose the bright motif and color.
Inspired from an artist, Patrick Caulfied, Kitty represented her observation of London urban exoticism and dynamism of Jakarta. Interestingly, in the bright color, Kitty combined print box-motif with Perspex acrylic accessories. These accessories were believed to emit light and colors, such as the alteration of delicate light in London city.
The beauty of Kitty design looked by the hand-made sketch floral motif. The selected colors were so eye-pleasing such as white, yellow, purple, and blue. It because, these colors matched the colors of her personal accesories . Her collection was so beautiful and varied. From the wrap-skirts with geometric folds, the utilization of synthetic materials, print motifs, as well as reversible neoprene jacket.
Her name is well known among fashion enthusiast. As of Vogue and Elle has been displaying her work. World-class performers such as Lady Gaga and Rita Ora have worn her design before.
