Earth Appreciation

Like the previous years of Jakarta Fashion Week 2015, Grazia Indonesia Magazine held a fun fashion show titled Grazia Glitz & Glam (3G) on Sunday, 2nd November 2014 at Senayan City, Jakarta.  It was fun because it presented the celebrity designer with the celebrity muse as always.  

This year, the celebrities who participated in this show were Daniel Mananta collaborated with Nowela Mikhelia, Iwet Ramadan and Andien Aisha, Pevita Pearce and Afgan, and Olivia Jensen and Acha Septriasa. They were challenged to interpret the themed “Satu Bumi” into their creation.

Pevita Pearce, as one of the owner of LocalBrand.co.id collaborated with Afgan’s clothing line, CRNVL. By using the organic material that wouldn’t damage the environment, they agreed to showcase a young urban style collection in monochromatic color palette. Al Ghazali or Al and Teuku Rasya were their muse on the 3G’s stage. 

Iwet Ramadhan and Andien explored batik tulis Madura that was suited to Andien’s characteristic and style which is cheerful and contemporary. The theme for their collection was “The Powerful Phoenix” claimed as eco-friendly batik, because they used organic cotton as their material and the manufacturing process wasn’t damage the environment. Andien herself was the muse in this sequence. 

Olivia Jensen and Acha Septriasa inspired by the beauty of the sky. Their theme was “Langit Bumi”. This collection composed by nine outfits which is the debut creation of them. Their muse were Alike Islamadina and Marsha Timothy

Daniel Manata was more mature to present his concept through his own label, DAMN! I Love Indonesia. He interpreted the theme “Satu Bumi” by presenting a collection of eco-friendly organic material t-shirt. He named this collection as “Industrial Greenesia” which was depict the destruction of forest due to uncontrolled slash and burnt, thus creating pollution that poisoned the earth.
