The Biggest Fashion Week In Southeast Asia Begun
Jakarta, 1st November 2014. The beginning of a grand event Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) 2015 was marked by a resound of traditional instrument, Kenong, at Fashion tent, Senayan City. This year is the seventh time Femina Group held this event and collaborates again with several famous lifestyle industries.
Jakarta Fashion Week 2015 will display the latest work of the local and international fashion designers for seven days until next 7th November. Dalyanta Sembiring, the Head of Public Relation JFW 2014 said that from the theme “Setting Fashion Future” this fashion week shows his intention to be the major venue for the Indonesian designers to enter the global area. “Through a variety of business development program, year after year, Jakarta Fashion Week consistent to helps the designers to upgrade themselves and being accepted to the global market. That expectance will also increase the interest of Indonesian people to be more and more love the local product that produce by the local designers” said Dalyanta.
Consentaneous with what CEO of Femina Group and Chief Executive of JFW 2014, Svida Alisjahbana has stated in the opening ceremony this afternoon. “Jakarta Fashion Week has become a barometer for fashion in Southeast Asia. We are growing and getting bigger,” said Svida. She also said the success’s evidence of JFW clearly seen through the success of Indonesia Fashion Forward (IFF), the incubator program of JFW for Indonesian designers, which it has got more and more attention from local and foreign mass media’s year after year. Likewise, celebrities and department store with wide world connection, which are currently wearing and displaying the products and brand from IFF’s alumni more often.
The opening ceremony of JFW 2015 was attended by the Minister of Tourism, Dr. Ir. Arief Yahya, M.Sc., who has said in his speech, “The Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia under the creative economy sector fully supports the birth of young designers.” While Rahmat Gobel, Minister for Trade, with a straightforward conveyed his support for JFW 2015, and hope that product by Indonesian designer can penetrate into global and international market.
JFW 2015’s opening ceremony was enlivened with a parade of eyewear’s latest collection by Optic Seis. The next fashion parade featured the work of 46 designers and famous Indonesian labels, they were, Billy Tjong, Tex Saverio, Patrick Owen, Jeffry Tan, Nur Zahra, Cotton Ink and Major Minor. They appeared with their own muses, like a singer named Melly Goeslaw stands for designer, Dian Pelangi and a model named Sari Nila for Yosafat Dwi Kurniawan.
At the invited guest line, representative of Senayan City and other sponsors for JFW 2015 appeared, as well as the fashion icon from inside and outside the country, and of course the fashion lovers. In that occasion, Svida Alisjahbana and Mirta Kartohadiprodjo from Femina Group gave flower bouquet to the minister of trade and minister of tourism, as well as to Senayan City and Permata Bank as the main sponsor for JFW 2015.
