Winners of Lomba Perancang Aksesori 2014

Jakarta, 3 November 2014. The third day of Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) 2015 began with the announcement of the winners of Lomba Perancang Aksesori (LPA) 2014. The biannual competition is held by Femina Group to find the best talents among young Indonesian designers, particulary those who specialize in accessories. This year, the theme of the competition is “World Traveler”.

Unlike in previous years, this time LPA does not have separate categories. Instead, each participant must design an entire collection which includes footwear, bag, and jewelry. The first winner of LPA 2014 is entitled to a scholarship for Basic Accessory Design Short Course at Istituto Marangoni in Milan, Italy.

LPA 2014 started in June this year. The panel of judges consists of Rinaldi A. Yunardi (accessory designer), Marista Santividya (shoe designer), Melissa Soetanto (Brand Owner of Pla), Diaz Parzada (Creative Director of JFW), Canti Sari (Executive Editor of Femina), Cynthia Wirjono (Director of The Goods Dept), and Astrid Ariani Wijana (Senior Marketing Manager of PT Mazda Motor Indonesia).

 

The peak of the competition was the crowning of the winners as part of LPM Graduates Tribute to Irma Hardisurya fashion show at 1 pm today. The first prize was won by Dinna Rohmatunisa with her collection “Shape Shifter”. The designer successfully stole the show by presenting an extraordinary bag which could be folded into a more practical form. It was truly magnificent!

The second prize went to Wahyu Sri Hastomo. His colorful collection, “Mix Culture”,  featured a unique fusion of Indonesian and European culture. Meanwhile, “Molin’s Capture” brought Novi Susanti to the third position. Susanti’s neat craftsmanship resulted in a collection which was considered to possess high commercial value and readiness to enter Indonesian fashion market.

Bernadete Yodia, whose collection was “World Traveler”, got selected as the Favorite Winner through SMS polls. The voters’ enthusiasm was evident from the plentiful votes which arrived on the committee’s table. All of the winners received cash prize worth millions of rupiah. Congratulations!
