Indonesia Fashion Forward Melts Tradition and Modernity Into One

Indonesia Fashion Forward (IFF) program is the concrete step of Jakarta Fashion Week to create an integrated and professional Indonesia fashion industry to be able to compete in internasional market. A real fashion week should be an event that not just ropes in fashion enthusiasts and media, but also a chance for the fashion industry players to look for more potential business opportunity.
 
On the first day, Saturday, October 21, 2017, the third-times IFF stage presented collections from Yelly, Kami., and Bateeq\. Each labels has its own uniqueness, adjusting to Jakarta Fashion Week 2018, “Bhinneka dan Berkarya”.
 
IFF gave the first turn to Yelly by Yelly Lumentu, the label known for its premium ready-to-wear clothing line. Looking good with more concepted and mature theme, classic and simple, the newest collection is still packed with the elegant monochromes. Every piece of clothing is suitable for formal and professional activity. Very versatile.


 
The newest collection of Kami. came next. The label, specialised in modestwear, returned to the stage with catchy designs and brighter shades to represent women’s spirits. Its selected fabric is very comfortable, making it perfect for daily wear.


 
The last segment is the latest collection of Bateeq, a label made by Michelle Tjokrosaputro. The concept of tradition that is represented in batik material is poured into modern silhouettes and neat pieces. The result is a series of modern and casual style, perfect for those who are young and busy. Dominated by natural colors, such as blue, with motifs that appear to be inspired by the ocean, Bateeq is able to represent the characteristic of Indonesian fashion that is able to compete in the international arena.
