Senayan City Invited Eight A-List Indonesian Designers to Spice Up JFW 2015

As the host of Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) 2015, Senayan City also joined in to enliven the sixth day of the event on Thursday, 6 November 2014. This year, JFW coincides with “8th Infinite Years”, a set of events to celebrate Senayan City’s 8th birthday. Hence, the shopping mall collaborated with top Indonesian designers to present “8 Infinite Capsule Collection”.

“8 Infinite Capsule Collection” featured eight exclusive collections from eight A-list Indonesian designers. They were Ardistia New York, Barli Asmara, Deden Siswanto, ISIS, Mel Ahyar, SPOUS by Priyo Oktaviano, Sapto Djojokartiko, and Signature Major Minor. “The entire collections will be produced in limited quantity for 8 Infinite Capsule Collection program,” stated Veri Y. Setiady (CEO of Senayan City) while opening the show.

The totally packed show began with all-black ready-to-wear collection by Sapto Djokokartiko. The color choice successfully emphasized Djokokartiko’s trademark—dramatic, stylish, and elegant designs. After that, Barli Asmara upped the ante with his black-and-white designs which looked modern, classic, and sophisticated.

“Touch of Sport” from Signature Major Minor, a label whose designs are favored by the young, also received an equally warm welcome from the audience. Various feminine apparels with casual cuts appeared in a blend of two contrasting colors which provided a touch of masculinity. Deden Siswanto came up next with a collection that combined linen, cotton, and voile, sending a unique and deconstructive impression.

After Siswanto, Ardistia New York appeared with a number of elegant and modern outfits in vivid shades that colored the atmosphere. The designer chose to combine purple, red, black, and yellow mustard colors in this “Modern Opulence” collection. Then, the show proceeded to a collection from ISIS, “Core”. Calm blue and attractive white mixed harmoniously on sensual and mysterious jet black. 

Special for 8 Infinite Capsule Collection, Priyo Oktaviano joined denim, cotton, linen, and Sumba woven textile into a perfect unity in SPOUS collection, his second line. This collection represented playful and urban cosmo youth. Lastly, gorgeous floral motifs spread their charm in Mel Ahyar’s collection. Inspired by the creative people of Girona who apply painting on embroidery, Ahyar followed the technique to produce a modern design.
