The Simplicity of Tailoring in Modern Era

Fashion lovers would definitely fall in love with this Dutch designer. Making his debut in the 2014 Jakarta Fashion Week on the sixth day, Hans Ubbink showcased his Spring/Summer 2014 ready-to-wear collection for men and women with a grounded design, but still had a little bit of twist.

Staying true to his idealism that every clothe must have a connection with the wearer through comfort, his pieces were far from restrictions without being vulgar. Using materials like cotton, linen and leather, the mix-and-match of jackets and dresses or suits with navy blue, beige and terracotta colors looked effortless and neat.

Moving on to the next sequence, male and female models walked the runway in couples wearing B&W and grey formal clothes.
Apart from that, Hans Ubbink also explored the Indonesian traditional fabrics in his collaboration with Erasmus Huis. The metallic accents gave a glamorous and modern touch in his six pieces using the traditional fabrics.

The show was closed by the performance of Rebecca Reijman, a singer of Indonesian and Dutch descent. She was wearing a multicolor metallic blazer and black pants. (Mira Monika/Femina)
