Sri is inspired by the talents and skills of silversmiths to preserve traditional Indonesian handicrafts, and elevate them in a modern way. She leads the entire creative and studio team, production plans and strategy.
Happy Salma (Tulola’s Co-Founder and Creative Conceptor)
Co-Founder and Creative Conceptor who weaves and curates the inspiration from Indonesia’s wide array of art; in the form of literary works, behaviors, and history, into Tulola’s work. She also leads the marketing efforts and branding for the company.

Coming from over a decade of experience in retail and business management, Franka consistently balances Tulola’s business operations and development plans.
Brand
Tulola Designs is a modern, luxury jewelry brand that partners with artisans to incorporate exquisitely handcrafted details into our collections. Tulola was started in 2007 by designer Sri Luce-Rusna. Sri opened the Tulola Studio working on one-of-a-kind art wear pieces focused on elevating traditional craftsmanship techniquest into new levels. Sri’s work caught the attention of Happy Salma, a member of the Ubud Royal family and one of Indonesia’s foremost actresses and producers, who shared a common passion for Indonesian culture and artisan work. When Franka Franklin-Makarim joined as co-founder, bringing with her years ofextensive retail, e-commerce and management skills into the company, the business grew exponentially. The company’s founders all shared a vision ofbuilding a sustainable business that promotes the evolution of artisan silver and gold craft, deeply inspired by Indonesia’s culture, arts and even literature.
At Tulola Designs, whose company make up is 90% women for retail and has more women artisan than others, empowering women is at the heart of our work. Building a working environment that supports women who are building their careers, mothers who work, artisans who get mentored; all of this is inherent in our cause. We continuously strive to unleash their potential, while building a sustainable company, with high quality jewelry competing on the international stage.
Drawing inspiration from Indonesian Archipelago, we explore our artisan heritage by discovering the motifs and designs from our past, and innovating them in modern and fresh collections.
