EPIPHANY, Enlightenment of Three Young Designers
On the fifth day of Jakarta Fashion Week 2016, Wednesday, October 28, 2015, young designers start to show their talent. Bramanta Wijaya, Ingrid Husodo, dan Marsha Siagiaan came up with the show themed "Epiphany", which means enlightenment. They are featuring their best collection with 47 look.
The show opened with Aftermath collection by Ingrid Husodo. Her collection is inspired by the atmosphere of the post-war era of Japanese colonialism. This time, she plays with black and white colors. Digital print accents also highlighted this collection. Ingrid Husodo admits that digital print is her main expertise. Satin and organza looks sweet in bold and asymmetric designs. Presented in 15 look, Aftermath by Ingrid Husodo looks casual, edgy, and feminine at the same time.
In the second show, Marsha Siagian’s collection comes with Immersion theme. Through 16 look, her presentation of Spring / Summer 2016 collection is came from the ideas that inspired by ??work system and maritime atmosphere. No wonder, if white and blue used as the main colors of Immersion collection. The joy atmosphere also presented through the cuttings and selection material which consists of knit, crepe, soft brocade, faux leather, fine cotton twill, wore by the models. Maritime concept also appears in clothing details, ranging from embroidery sharks patterns displayed in one of her shirts, patchwork style, to the striped patterns. Immersion is a casual feminine style, predicted will become Marsha Siagian’s next year collection.
After featuring the two collections of casual designs, "Epiphany" was closed with a row of pretty dresses designed by Bramanta Wijaya. This designer who came from Semarang is the youngest member of APPMI Central Java (along with Ingrid Husodo) has maximizing the beauty of woman's body, dressed in a soft silhouette and waist-fitted dress. In accordance with the theme Mellifluous Marmoreal, Bramanta Wijaya featuring 16 look in this collection looks gracefully because of the classic silhouettes, the materials used are silk and lace. His collection added with unique accessories, such as bags that looked similar to flowerpot, a crown like owned by the White Queen in Alice in Wonderland movie, as well as rabbit mask. Bramanta realizing the unique fairytale that shows the other side of women’s beauty. Gentle and playful.
